COMPANY POLICIES

Cancellations and no shows

As a small business, it hits hard when customers don't show up for their appointments. I will always try and accommodate my clients if your original appointment no longer works for you and you need to rearrange, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if this is the case.
However, I must ask for at least 24 hours notice if you cannot make your appointment. This gives me a chance to offer the slot to someone else and also helps to avoid disruptions and loss of income which are particularly impactful for small businesses.

Any no-shows or cancellations less than 24 hours notice will be required to pay 50% of your dogs groom price before a new appointment can be made. This can either be done by bank transfer or added onto the price of your next grooming session.

As always, I really appreciate your understanding and cooperation to help me continue to provide a smooth running and reliable service to you and your furry family members.

Matting

Here at Pup Culture dog grooming, I understand that life is busy and your dogs coat can easily become matted and I am here to help you!
When a dogs hair becomes severely matted, it can lead to discomfort and skin irritation. The safest and most ethical approach to remove the matts is to shave them off from underneath. A few knots and tangles don't cause too much of a problem as I can usually use the correct tools to help gently brush them out. Any tight matts that are bigger than a 50p piece and tight to the skin may be clipped out, as this is kinder to your dog.
However, if upon consultation, I suspect that your dogs coat is beyond saving and the matted area is too large, it will need to be completely taken down short in order to relieve the dog of discomfort and allow for a healthier hair growth moving forward. I will always make you aware of what needs to be done and get your permission before I do anything.

Please note that there will be an additional charge for clipping off a matted coat. This is due to the extra time to perform the task carefully, ensuring your dog receives breaks during the process. Additionally, the condition of matted fur can impact my grooming tools, such as causing blades to blunt more quickly.

The clip-off process is conducted with a lot of skill and expertise, and although great care will be taken at all times, I am using sharp blades very close to the skin on a moving animal and risk or injury is greatly increased. I cannot be held liable for any clipper rash, nicks and grazes to the skin as a result of severe matting. Once the matted coat has been clipped off, this may also reveal pre-existing skin conditions that were not visible before, which I also cannot be held responsible for.

Moving forward, if you ever feel in over your head with the high maintenance aspect of grooming your dogs hair, please ask me for advice! I am always more than willing to offer help and guidance in tips, techniques, and buying the correct tools to keep your dog looking and feeling their best.
Together, we can make grooming a breeze for both you and your furry friend.
Your pets happiness is my priority!

Reminder:

Please ensure your dog has a chance to go for a walk and relieve themselves before their appointment. This will help make the most of our time together and keep things comfortable for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding!
